The focus of the ‘Internet from Scratch’ project is to develop a torrent of  all of the software and documentation that would be necessary to rebuild the Internet as we know it in the event of  a complete and permanent blackout of the existing Internet infrastructure. It could also be used to develop similar networks in areas where said infrastructure does not currently exist.
